Day 4

Have you ever given yourself permission to be ok with things out of your control? What about not taking things personal? I have given myself permission to BE ok with many things lately. It gives ME inner peace. When you truly open your heart to be ok with what IS, it will help you find inner peace. I can not control other people's actions. I can only control my actions and reactions. I have cracked down on myself to really think about how I react and what I say. It's important to me to be impeccable with my word, although it's not always easy!! The 4 Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz has really helped me with this. Although not always easy to follow, it's a work in progress for sure! Everyday gives me practice!

Day 4

The boys were excited to get Sushi Rolls for lunch today! I think it's a great idea because it is unique and you can stuff many kinds of healthy goodies in it. Send them with chopsticks and Braggs Aminos and they will be the talk of lunch time. We have these little chopstick helpers and it makes it simple for the boys to use!

Breakfast was very yummy! The watermelon just melts in your mouth and is so flavorful. The blueberries in the plain yogurt really pop with flavor too!

I seem to make all my appointments on Friday's! I had an acupuncture appointment at 9 that I forgot about. If it doesn't get into my Google Calendar, I forget about it! Team zoom call at 10, nail appointment at 11-12:30, stuff my face full of food before my 1:00 Zoom call with Tyric and back to the acupuncture at 1:30(because she was SO kind to get me in!) Once I finally got to my last appointment I was able to relax and snooze whilst needles were poked in my extremities! HA No really, it is VERY relaxing! Try it sometime! I also didn't have everything for my lunch so I had to improvise!

I had about 25 minutes before I needed to pick my boys up so I decided to head to the health food store. LOVE this place! Check it out if you are ever in Palm Harbor, Fl! Earth Origins. I was on my way to pick up the boys and I saw smoke coming from my engine! OIY! I was stranded on the side of the road. OOPS! My lovely friend, Debbie was so kind to pick my boys up from school and pick me up! SO THANKFUL to have friends that will come to the rescue! Thank you SO much Debbie! Hubby fixed Sabine and it runs like new now! (not so much, but it'll do!)

Normally I would feel anxiety and in a hurried rush but I really have felt like I have slowed down. I feel energy but everything around me is slower. Does that make sense?! lol I feel such a sense of peace and I am LOVING IT!  I knew that stir-fried veggies were not going to be at the top of my kids dinner list so I prepared them left over organic spaghetti sauce and quinoa noodles. I thought dinner was great! I didn't have the time to make my quinoa salad the program called for but I felt pretty comfy with the amount of food we had.

My boys are the loves of my life! They had a school dance tonight and I was their date! I LOVE dressing up as well as my boys so tonight was perfect! Believe it or not, that poodle skirt was made by my mom for me in elementary school! I had to high waist it but it zipped up and I didn't have to suck it in that much! LOL

All in all today was pretty good. Even though I rush a little through the day I still felt pretty calm. This program really makes you think about life and slowing down. Start living in the moment and have conviction in your beliefs and the confidence to execute those beliefs.

Day 3

Have you heard this before? "Surround yourself with ONLY people who are going to lift you HIGHER!"

How often do we let people in that are continually bringing us down?  It happens, humans are compassionate people and will often hurt themselves before someone else, even if that someone else is hurting them. It takes courage and a change in beliefs to be able to follow through with this quote. You need to protect yourself and your family. Everyone probably has at least one negative nelly in their life!! I've had plenty and still do!
I kept justifying to myself why these people should stay, well, we have been friends for a long time, i just don't want to hurt their feelings, he/she is family, so...,they really don't mean it...yes, that list of justifications can go on and on.

Have a belief that you deserve the best. You deserve a great life and you deserve to be treated right! If you don't feel you deserve this than you will attract those that bring you down. It's the law of attraction and it works VERY well folks!

This morning I spoke with a lady I met at a convention this past weekend. She sounds like she will lift me up! I won't tell what it was about but a HUGE change is about to unfold in my life!!! SO EXCITING!!!!!!

Day 3

I had 8 hours of sleep last night. It was ok sleep. I woke a few times and that never is good for me. Interrupted sleep is the PITTS! Usually I feel like death all day but today feels different. A GOOD different! This morning the program called again for eggs and toast so I substituted that for 1/2 Cantaloupe. I can't eat it too cold so I took it out early and by the time 9:30 rolled around it was perfect! Did you know melon should be eaten alone. Food Combining is pretty important. It is why many people have tummy problems! Read more about food combining here :) If you find any of this information could help someone you love, please forward them the info! Thank you!

Lunch was EXCELLENT!! I had been using the ginger-miso dressing and switch it to a basic balsamic vinaigrette! I REALLY enjoy that flavor! I added in pumpkin seeds to my salad today to see how my tummy reacts. So far so good, but also I added in lentils. Legumes are not really digestible by the human body either, hence why they are cooked! lol

I have to say, I am really blessed that I am my OWN leader(I don't care for the word boss;) and work from home. It has made it VERY easy to be able to make these past 3 days go smooth and look forward to the rest. Last time I did this program I was working full time and coaching too. I was really pushed for time and wasn't able to relax like I can now! REASON #16374 to be self-employed! If you want to learn what I do as a Beachbody Coach, comment below or send me a message! I would love to tell you more! Hey, if I can Coach, YOU can coach too! Trust me! :D

Here is a short clip of my back yard. I feel at peace here :)

I decided to have a snack today. Boiled eggs and crackers. These are not the whole grain that they suggested but pressed seed crackers from the health food store. VERY YUMMY!! Do you like the very snobby looking butler plate?! I have a set of them and they crack me up!

Dinner was a lot of fun! The boys LOVE to make their own sushi rolls so this was a great opportunity for them to partake in the festivities! I decided against the nori wrap because I just don't like homemade rolls! So I just ate the insides :) The bottom right roll is my husbands roll he tried to make. Pretty good job!

I didn't get this blog finished last night because I had a lovely visit from my sister in law and her son. They were here to drop of my niece that is stay with us for a while. We had a great time!

While they were here, my baby boy over consumed pineapple :( His reaction was swollen lips, red, itchy, watery eyes and a running nose. Benadryl to the rescue! Poor baby! He said he won't eat that much again!

So today went well, other than my baby boy's allergic reaction! I feel pretty good, although I could use a good poo. LOL I hear that is one of the changes that happen. Then next week I should be pretty regular! My weight has fluctuated about 5 lbs since Monday, my husband is down 4lbs.! I heard our friend is down 14 lbs in 3 days!!!!!! WOW! Weight loss is NOT the soul purpose of this 21 day reset. It's just the side effect!

Day 2

My thoughts of the day

We live in a day of age where convenience is everywhere and it's demanded. People are busier than ever and it doesn't seem like they are slowing down anytime soon. The amount of stress that people put themselves through is unbelievable. People are busier than ever but lazier than ever. Funny contradiction isn't it? But it's the truth when it comes to taking care of the body with good nutrition and exercise. People are just down right lazy about it! I know, I was one of those busy but lazy people! I know better now!

On many occasions someone near and dear to me complains about the so called "pains" associated with getting old. It REALLY bothers him yet he is doing SO many things to progress this very thing he doesn't want to happen. WHAT?!
What is old? Truly, what does the term "old" mean to you? To me, it's just a progression of time passed. You can be "old" and healthy or "old" and unhealthy. Unfortunately, many people are old and unhealthy from their own doing. They chose instant gratification(then over time it becomes a habit/addiction) over long term health. I think back to my crazy party days and thank myself for seeing the light! lol I chose health now!!

The emphasis on unhealthy eating/habits has been made abundantly clear living in today's world. Just start eating healthy and making healthy choices and you will see! Guess what, I am not following the  path that MANY chose. I have been ridiculed, poked fun of and even told I am lame and boring for my healthy choices. I will still march to the beat of my own drum in this quest to Optimal Health. It doesn't mean I am totally immune to the fact that companies do such a great job with making foods VERY enticing. Lately though I have been really focusing on beating out those "distractions". All I have to think about is underlying motivation that those companies work from, money. It's all about the bottom line and it's at the expense of people's health.

Take care of yourself and be mindful of what you are eating and feeding your kids. It's YOUR responsibility to protect and teach them.

Day 2
Woke up from a horrible, horrible nightmare. The program states that there are numerous types of detoxing effects. I'd rather have a nightmare than a headache(caffeine withdrawals). I slept for 8 1/2 hours, felt good! Breakfast was ok. I am not a yogurt eater and plain yogurt is NOT on my favs list! lol I mixed in the Pure Maple Syrup, cinnamon, and blueberries. It was good enough to choke down! The oatmeal is made with water and for some people that may not be on their favs list but to me still tastes good. I also added a bit of PMS(hahaha, do you get it?) blueberries and cinnamon. Of course my little man wanted the oatmeal too.(He still feels sick today:( Although he didn't eat it because I didn't make it the normal way with an immersion blender to make it smooth(I know, spoiled boy!)

I decided to pass on the Greek salad today and have what I had for lunch yesterday. I bought White Miso paste yesterday and wanted to try it out! Yup, much better than brown miso paste. My little one decided to start munching on tomorrow's lunch, lentil-lime salad(one of his favs). He reiterated to me again that he is doing this program with me :)

Microgreen salad and white miso soup and Zak munching on Lentil-Lime Salad.

The ever dreaded Alkanalize! Really, it's not that bad. I always feel fantastic after I drink it! Tip( add it to a small closed container with 1-2 ounces of water, shake and gulp!

Snack time! I was a little hungry after lunch today so I decided on Edemame. Later I realized that the Edemame I had was not organic. Majority of all Edemame are GMO. BAD STUFF! I will be purchasing organic next time I'm at the store. Click here to learn more about GMO's.  It's important to be informed about what you are eating!

Dinner was VERY GOOD! I forgot how good it was from the last time I did the Reset. It is definitely a keeper because my 2 little ones  LOVED it! It can be challenging at times to find meals that we ALL love! I substituted the corn tortilla for a brown rice tortilla. Strange to say the least but I will buy it again! lol Warmed it up in the oven for about 1 min. I also added coriander, cumin and green onions to my corn and broiled the mix on low for about 10 min.(you can add this corn mixture to guacamole too, so yummy;)

So I have heard from a few of my friends on the Reset right now that are having bad headaches and feeling crappy. I have not had anything other then feeling a little slow and a nightmare. But I feel good. It feels like a buzz from drinking a glass of wine..lol..(note..I have been sober for over 2 years :)

The book also says to do the Reset when you know you will be less stressed. I have to say, the stress level has been very low. The boys have been very good. The few times they got into it, I didn't punish them(although, Ty will beg to differ.lol) who ever was in trouble had to ask the other, "what nice thing can I do for you?" So far Ty gave Zak a piggy back ride and Zak made Ty a fried egg. LOVE IT!

Today was day 16 in my 30 day Minimalist Purge group! Request to be added if you dare!!!
What is this you say?! Well, it's a group I started to get rid of S***! I have TOO many things that I don't use or can't use, it gets moved from one place to another and was causing me STRESS!! Not only was it taking up physical space but mental space too! Attachments to TOO many things. I am now making room for the more important things in my life.

Misclanious items in my pantry. Expired meds along with TOO many med cups! The CD case w/ CD's where not in the pantry ;)

Take a moment tonight and think of how you can make your life a little more simple. Then make a plan to reach it. It's not going to be just one thing that simplifies your life but multiple, small steps towards it.
XO
Enjoy your evening and your loved ones!

Day 1

Day 1

I decided to embark on this 21 Day journey again. I completed this program in the beginning of 2013 and it really helped me see the relationship I had with food. It helped me see what fueled my body and what didn't. I was amazed at how much energy I had. I felt like my body had been reset, brand new. It helped me develop healthier eating habits long after I completed the program.

I was up all night with my youngest child. He was not feeling well and it worried me. So of course I was up tending to my baby! He is home from school today and I hear him singing in the back ground. He always seems to lift my spirits and knows how to please. He told me that he wanted to do the 21 Day Reset with me and was upset when I told him it's not for kids. He tells me he only wants to eat healthy food! I am doing my part in teaching my boys about healthy living and it is paying off. I want them to be happy with their healthy choices and teaching them the "why" on healthy living is important to me.

The program calls for Mineralized distilled water and a lot of it! I chugged my 25 ounces and took 2 Optimize capsules and now I wait for 30 minutes to eat my watermelon! I am not one for swallowing pills but I'll do it for 21 days. I am not following all the outlined meals because I am vegan and leaning more towards raw vegan. I have been transitioning to this way of eating the past 1 1/2 weeks and it's been interesting. I am feeling SO much better.

In my research to Optimal Heath I have been learning that food combining is pretty important. That if you eat certain foods together that you shouldn't, it's hard for your body to digest, hence so called stomach issues. And you are definitely NOT absorbing all the nutrients either. It's funny, these things are not taught growing up and are VERY important to know.

Brown Miso Soup w/green onion

Lunch was pretty good although I like the white miso paste better to make my miso soup. My Microgreen salad was great and my son had his own bowl full too! I made ours with baby spinach, red pepper, cherry tomatoes, avocado and the ginger-seseame-miso dressing.  I didn't add the pumpkin seeds because they are tough to digest.

I took the alkalinize(powder that is the color of grass!!) by shaking it in a small container with about 1 ounce of water and gulping it. I don't mind the flavor although the very first time I threw it back up! Click here for that clip! YES I videoed it! lol I had heard it was awful and I worked myself up under that pretense and didn't like it before I tried it. I actually DO like it now. It goes to show you that you need to keep an open mind no matter what people say!

I am feeling pretty good so far today. A little hungry but nothing to worry about. I got this!

Grilled Salmon w/asparagus and baby potatoes
Dinner tasted very good although I overcooked the Salmon a bit. WHOOPS! It was plenty of food for sure.

It's about 9p.m. and I am feeling a little tired. The program calls for a lot of rest so I am good with that! I'm all about taking it easy these days :)
Overall, today was a success and I am determined to make tomorrow successful too!
See you all tomorrow!
